One of the things new Press-A-Print Operators are taught incessantly at New Operator Training is to 'always get the business.' While we do encourage operators to make sure they can meet the necessary timelines (it takes some time to print 5000 t-shirts), we encourage them to say yes and get the job. Sometimes this creates a bit of a tight spot, but your office staff at PAP is here to help! PAP'er Steve Graff shares this:
"After just a few months in business, my wife Tami got a call from a local company that manufactures copper tubing for air conditioners. It seems the Sales Manager had an idea for a really cool product and he wanted to know if we could help. Due to our training, Tami immediately said "YES, WE CAN HELP!" Then, as we were supposed to do, we started to panic.
The client had described a pocket-sized plastic device with metric to standard conversions printed on one side and his company's info on the other. No big deal, so far. Then he said he wanted half circles cut out on the edges that could be used to measure copper tubing quickly and accurately.
Tami called Lori at Press-a-Print and the search began. After lots of hunting, the two of them together found a company in Ohio that was willing to do the project for us. We priced the customer at a $1 per piece profit and they agreed. Not just any agreement, but they ordered 5000 pieces! Within 4 months they had reordered another 5000! $10,000 of profit on one order. Needless to say, we were hooked to this business for life. Not bad for newbies, huh?"

I love this! The blog idea is wonderful - allows PAP'ers to share their successes and not fill up our email inboxes. We can come here for a recharge or an 'AH' moment - where we learn something else we can do.
Thanks for setting this up!
